Utz attaches great importance to the optimal use of resources. Our raw material productivity is already at almost 100 percent. The automation of sub-processes has allowed us to not only increase process reliability, but also create interesting tasks for our employees. Digital process monitoring provides us with reliable data to optimize energy, water, and raw material consumption. Environmentally friendly waste management is part of Utz's day-to-day operations. Zero waste is our goal.
Since 2022, Utz has been offsetting all Scope 1+2 CO2e via certified climate projects.
We are continuously investing in the renewal of our manufacturing machines and rely on global leading technologies. Closed water cycles and the use of process heat, protect the environment. Utz production processes do not produce toxic exhaust gases nor noise emissions. We also avoid the use of solvents and plasticizers.
The shaping of plastic requires energy. In the CO2 footprint of the Utz Group, the energy share is significant. That is why we are continuously optimizing the use of energy. By 2030, we will exclusively use energy from renewable sources and already produce some of it directly on site.
At Utz, all locations are independently monitored and certified. Utz processes therefore meet all important international process standards for quality, safety and sustainability. Our efficiency targets are based on current industry benchmarks and our own internal environmental goals.
