Developed collaboratively by Jungheinrich and Utz, these customized containers provided the required durability and integration capability. Fastbolt consequently procured over 16,000 of these containers from Utz, significantly enhancing warehouse capacity and operational efficiency.
The Client
Fastbolt operates as a successful global reseller of industrial fastening elements. Their extensive product range includes high-density items such as screws, nuts, and similar hardware components. Supplying these essential parts to various industries requires an efficient and highly capable logistics operation, ensuring that heavy loads are managed safely and reliably across their supply chain.

The challenge
The primary challenge for Fastbolt was managing the extreme weight of their dense inventory. Fastening elements carry a significant physical mass, meaning any storage container utilized in their facility must offer an exceptionally high load capacity.
To optimize their warehouse space, Fastbolt chose to integrate Jungheinrich’s Cube Storage System, known as the PowerCube. However, they needed a specific, heavy-duty container that could seamlessly integrate with this modern automated system. The standard boxes available could not safely support the dense hardware. Fastbolt required a tailored solution capable of handling a payload of up to 50 kg without compromising the stability or speed of the automated robotic handling system.
The solution
To resolve this complex logistics challenge, Utz acted as the exclusive development partner for the container, collaborating closely with Jungheinrich. Leveraging decades of experience in injection molding and automated warehouse solutions, Utz engineered a customized plastic container designed specifically to navigate the Jungheinrich PowerCube system.
As the exclusive supplier possessing the specialized tool and mold for the PowerCube container, Utz provided a highly tailored, capable solution. The engineering team ensured the container's structural integrity could easily support the 50 kg weight requirement. Furthermore, the containers were manufactured in Fastbolt’s requested gentian blue color. To provide clear brand identification, the Utz team equipped each container with Fastbolt's logo as an engraving insert, delivering a smart and customized finish.
Results
The rollout of the new automated storage system was highly efficient and meticulously scheduled to minimize operational disruption.
