Bringing joy and doing good with unique containers
Georg Utz Switzerland marketing team had been wondering for some time how we could generate more attention for Utz via social media – both in dialogue with our existing followers and by attracting new ones. We finally found the answer in the unique RAKO containers, which are created by changing color during injection molding. Instead of recycling these directly from the injection molding machine as before, we wanted to test whether they could be sold via social media to people who enjoy something special. This is how the “one-off containers” were created, which already fascinated me during my apprenticeship at Utz.
At the beginning of 2024, we put the idea into practice as a team: We collected the unique containers at the injection molding plant, created texts and photos for the posts and organized the internal process for collecting and selling these containers. Interested parties can collect the containers directly in Bremgarten and pay in cash or via TWINT. 100 % of the proceeds will be donated to a charitable organization.
We launched the project on Facebook and LinkedIn at the end of August. Since then, a new post with a different unique container has appeared every week. All but one of the “works of art” on offer have been sold so far. At the end of the year, the proceeds will be donated to the St Benedikt special school home in Hermetschwil-Staffeln. We hope that many people will continue to enjoy these special containers in the future and want to do something good at the same time.
