- Location: Derbyshire with hybrid working (full clean driving licence required) with some international travel
- Hours of work: Full-time 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

The Utz Group employs 1,350 people worldwide, with 80 people in the UK. We develop, produce, and distribute storage and transport containers, pallets, technical parts, and workpiece carriers made of recyclable plastic. We are specialists in this field. We manufacture using state-of-the-art modern injection molding machines and have our own toolmaking facilities. With our environmentally friendly products and services, we continually set benchmarks and industry standards. Our goal is to use 100% renewable energy by 2030. We are also taking targeted measures to reduce our company's carbon footprint by over 50% by 2035.
This role offers the opportunity to become a key part of the Sales team in a varied and interesting technical sector. We are seeking a dedicated candidate to start as soon as possible.
We are seeking a technically experienced project manager – in this role your primary focus will be planning, organising and overseeing the completion of projects to meet specific goals, deadlines and budgets that meet our blue-chip customer expectations. The role will collaborate with our European colleagues, and include a varied and interesting portfolio of bespoke and technical product specifications.
Key responsibilities (not limited to)
- Project planning – create a detailed project plan including timelines, budgets and resources
- Managing tendors – reviewing and actioning formal and technical documentation including but not limited to NDA’s, tendors and contracts
- Identify & managing risk – carry out monitoring and control activities to track progress, idenitfying and managing risks, developing mitigation strategies where required
- Project Management – coordinate projects according to standard procedures from inception to delivery managing stakeholders, resources, budget and gate process to achieve a successful outcome
- Build relationships – effectively motivate, manage and lead key stakeholders with clear communication and timeframes
- Reporting – maintaining an accurate and organised system of reporting and evaluation of projects
- Collaborating – working effectively with peers and other internal and external teams to ensure efficiency and managing tender and other deadlines to ensure delivery.
The ideal candidate will hold a higher level qualification in Maths and English, and have profound experience in a similar role with a technical or engineering background. A qualification in Project Management isn’t essential but may prove advantageous.
The skills required are
- Proficient in project management skills and other working methodology
- Proficient in IT, MS Office / Project and CRM software
- Collaboration and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate, liaise and engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Customer focus with both internal and external customers
- Leadership, negotiation and diplomacy skills
- Time management, organisation, analytical and planning skills
- Attention to detail and ability to demonstrate technical solutions coherently
- Confident decision-maker and problem-solver, with a high degree of self-motivation.
