Cyber-attack against the IT-Systems of the Utz Group

There was a Cyber-attack against the Utz Group on 6th May 2022. The ransomware-attack was detected and averted in good time. Due to the intact safety system no data and IT-Systems were encrypted. A taskforce is analysing together with security experts and the authorities the cyber-attack.

Since Friday, 6th May 2022 the Utz Group is confronted with a cyber-attack. The security operations centre (SOC) has detected the attack and was able to avert the presumed ransomware-attack in good time. Due to the fast and professional reaction of the security experts no data and IT-systems were encrypted. The group directly implemented further security measures and involved the responsible authorities. A detailed investigation of the situation is in progress.

The Utz Group is prepared for such a scenario and has immediately put in place a taskforce with internal and external IT- and forensic experts. They are analysing the case and clarify if there was a possible data loss.
